A few years ago, PhpMyAds (now OpenX) is very familiar with all publishers in the world because that script can handle an ads easily on one central place, not having to go into templates code and change them. There are also an advertising networks like DoubleClick (Google now owns) and Advertising.com who have a similar services like this.

And yesterday Google has announce a similar tool for publishers called Google Ad Manager (Beta) for invitation only. If you need a hosted ad server from one of the biggest player in advertising network why not you apply for an invitation?
