Google has just released Google Email Uploader, a desktop utility to import your current emails and contacts to Google Apps account. It can import email from Microsoft Outlook 2003+, Outlook Express and Thunderbird at this time. This Email Uploader doesn’t modify sent dates and sender/recipient data, as well as the folder structure used by the other email program.

The Google Email Uploader is only enabled for users with Google Apps accounts, not standard GMail accounts. Also, you must first activate your email account by logging into http://mail.google.com/a/your domain and accepting the Terms of Service for your user account.

To start using this program, point your browser to the Google Email Uploader site and download the program first and then install it on your computer. This tool is an open source and only works on Windows XP and Vista.
