
Last year i’ve already talked about top 10 most stolen cars in 2007 and that topic got a high traffic from search engine. It’s mean lots of people will consider this issue when buying a car or maybe really cares about their car security, but who knows. So how about the most stolen cars in 2008?
The Insurance Bureau of Canada has unveiled it’s list of the top 10 most stolen vehicles in 2008 as well as the top 10 cars that thieves are least likely to steal. Here is the top 10 stolen cars list.
- 2000 Honda Civic SiR 2-door
- 1999 Honda Civic SiR 2-door
- 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX/WRX STi 4-door AWD
- 1995 Dodge/Plymouth Grand Caravan/Voyager
- 1995 Dodge/Plymouth Caravan/Voyager
- 2002 Acura RSX Type S 2-door
- 2001 Audi TT Quattro Roadster
- 1995 Acura Integra 2-door
- 1996 Dodge/Plymouth Neon 2-door
- 1996 Dodge/Plymouth Neon 4-door
That are the most stolen and the opposite is the least stolen cars:
- (tie 1st) 2003 Cadillac Deville 4-door
- (tie 1st) 2002 Lincoln Continental 4-door
- (tie 1st) 2001 Lincoln Town Car 4-door
- 2007 Chevrolet Impala 4-door
- (tie 3rd) 2001 Toyota Avalon 4-door
- (tie 3rd) 1999 Toyota Tacoma 2WD
- (tie 4th) 2005 Buick Terraza EXT
- (tie 4th) 2003 Buick Regal 4-door
- (tie 4th) 2002 Toyota Highlander 4-door 2WD

That’s only a statistic from Canada and how about the whole United States? According to data from Highway Loss Data Institute (an affiliate of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety - IIHS), the big SUVs is the star from most stolen cars in 2008. The only real performance entry comes from the Honda S2000 at number ten.

- 2007 Cadillac Escalade: 11.3/$14,657
- 2006-2007 Dodge Charger: 11/$7,047

- 2005-2007 Hummer H2 SUT: 10.0/$23,771
- 2005-2007 Dodge Magnum: 9.9/$8,926
- 2005-2007 Hummer H2: 8.7/$18,791
- 2005-2007 Dodge Durango: 8.1/$9,682
- Honda S2000 Convertible: 8.1/$13,624
The figures are reported in number of claims filed for every 1,000 vehicles insured each year average loss payment per claim. And here is the least stolen cars from IIHS:
- 2005-2007 Mercedes E Class: 0.6/$10,805
- 2005-2007 Buick Rainier: 0.6/$4,228
- 2005-2007 Subaru Forester: 0.6/$4,228
- 2005-2007 Buick Terraza: 0.7/$8,644
- 2005-2007 Volkswagon New Beetle: 0.7/$5,919
- 2005-2007 Ford Focus: 0.7/$4,980
- 2005-2007 Volvo V70: 0.8/$3,195
- 2005-2007 Toyota Prius: 0.8/$4,604
- 2005-2007 Saturn Relay: 0.8/$5,262
- 2005-2007 Ford Freestyle: 0.8/$7,759
