The WordPress development team has release WordPress 2.5.1 to the public. It’s a minor change of version 2.5, includes over than 70 bug fixes, performance enhancements, and one very important security fix. They recommend everyone to update it as soon as possible especially if the blog has open registration.
Here is the highlight of their improvement on the new version of WordPress:
- Performance improvements for the Dashboard, Write Post, and Edit Comments pages.
- Better performance for those who have many categories
- Media Uploader fixes
- An upgrade to TinyMCE 3.0.7
- Widget Administration fixes
- Various usability improvements
- Layout fixes for IE
If you would like to secure your blog, don’t forget to include a unique security key (it’s unique and random on every page load) on your config file. They introduced this secret key since WordPress 2.5 located on wp-config.php file on your root WordPress installation directory.
